A sudden fire that erupted in a drapery shop near 10th Mile Post, Athurugiriya, Malabe road this evening (13) is being controlled by fire-fighters and Army troops of the 14 Division under the Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ-West).
At the time this story was pasted 3 Officers, 20 Other Rankers and ordnance corps Fire vehicle with 3 Army riders on the directions of the General Officer Commanding, 14 Division are engaged in the fight against spreading fire with the closer supervision of the Commanding Officer 9 Sri Lanka Light Infantry, Major Dias Gunarathna.
It is suspected that the fire has erupted due to the extreme weather conditions currently prevailing in the Western Province.
