ARMY TROOPS EXTINGUISHED A FIRE IN WAULPANE ALOE FOREST.

At the request of the Disaster Management Center, Ratnapura, 2 x 20 troops from the Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Base Workshop - Udawalawa, successfully extinguished a fire that broke out in the Waulpane Aloe Forest Reserve in the Embilipitiya Divisional Secretariat.

This operation was conducted under the supervision of the Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Base Workshop - Udawalawa, following instructions from the Commander 611 Infantry Brigade. It commenced on 12 March 2024 at approximately 1700 hrs and the army troops successfully extinguished it by 1920 hrs on the same day.
