ARMY PERSONNEL HELPED TO BE A SOURCE OF ENCOURAGEMENT FOR LOW-INCOME FAMILIES IN COLOMBO AREA

With the coordination of Thalagala Sri Siddhartha Foundation (Sri Lanka) and the Tan Ngak Buay & Kee Meng Lang Foundation Limited (Singapore), 144 Infantry Brigade under Security Forces (West) organized a charity programme of donating 1500 packs of dry ration to low-income families living in Kaduwela, Kolonnawa, Kotte areas. Similarly, 3rd stage of said programmer has been conducted at Wevekaramaya Temple - Pegeriwaththa on 22 July 2022 for the needy families who are living in Gangodavila Grama Niladari Division.

Funds for this programmer was provided by Thalagala Sri Siddhartha Foundation (Sri Lanka) and the Tan Ngak Buay & Kee Meng Lang Foundation Limited (Singapore) and necessary arrangements were provided by Army personnel of 144 Infantry Brigade and 2 (v) Sri Lanka Light Infantry under the guidelines of commander 144 Infantry Brigade Brigadier K M V Kodituwakku.

Furthermore, in the recent past, these kind of many programmer were carried out by Thalagala Sri Siddhartha Foundation (Sri Lanka) and the Tan Ngak Buay & Kee Meng Lang Foundation Limited (Singapore) in association with the Army personnel who have been rendered a noble services to the people living in the districts of Colombo, Gampaha and Galle under this Security Forces Area of Responsibility.

Ven Talagala Sumanaratana Nayake Thero of Talagala Sri Siddhartha Foundation, Ven Pegeriwaththa Wevekaramaya Urugemuwe Dammadasse Thero, Civil Affairs Officer and Other Ranks of 144 Infantry Brigade, 2 nd in Command of 2 (v) Sri Lanka Light Infantry, Grama Niladari and Development Officer participated for the distribution ceremony.
