In response to a request made by the Venerable Ududumbara Kashyapa Thera, Army personnel of 15 Drone Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery generously contributed to the ‘Viru Amadahara’ programme, which was recorded by 'Jaya TV’ on 26 June 2023 for their further references.
The programme was conducted at "Swarna Jayanthi" Ranaviru village, Kosgama and its primary objective was to support soldiers' families and their children who reside at "Swarna Jayanthi" Ranaviru village. Thereby, soldiers’ families and their children were gifted with dry ration packs and school stationary items respectively.
Meanwhile, Army personnel from 15 Drone Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery of 142 Infantry Brigade under 14 Infantry Division of Security Forces (West) assisted in the success of this community programme in various ways. They actively contributed to arranging the venue for the programme, ensuring its cleanliness, and supporting organizing the distribution of gifts, etc. Further, by taking charge of these responsibilities, the Army personnel have showcased their commitment to serving not only their country but also their fellow soldiers and their families.
Furthermore, the Commanding Officer of the 15 Drone Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery closely monitored the Army’s contribution under the direction of the Commander Security Forces (West) with the approval of Army Headquarters.
