ARMY ELLE TEAM WON THE MICHAEL VAZ AND HONEY THAMEL ELLE TOURNAMENT -2023

The Michael Vaz and Honey Thamel Elle Tournament - 2023 was a thrilling event that took place from 08 to 16 July 2023, at the Thoduwawa Golden Beach Sports Club playground. The tournament was organized by the Thoduwawa Golden Beach Sports Club in Marawila and featured 16 teams, including the Sri Lanka Army Elle team.

The Sri Lanka Army Elle team showcased their exceptional skills and teamwork by winning the first-round matches and advancing to the semi-finals against the Waduraba St. Anne’s Sports Club Elle team. In the semi-finals, the Sri Lanka Army team demonstrated their prowess, defeating their opponents and securing their place in the finals against the Barudalpotha Christ King Sports Club Elle team.

During the finals, the Sri Lanka Army Elle team displayed exceptional skills and teamwork, scoring an impressive 12 runs. Their opponents, the Barudalpotha Christ King Elle team, put up a valiant effort but could only manage to collect four runs. Finally, with their remarkable performance, the Sri Lanka Army Elle team emerged as the winners of the Michael Vaz and Honey Thamel Elle Tournament - 2023 after beating the Christ King Sports Club Elle team by eight runs with the following awards:

Man of the Tournament as well as Best batsman in the Tournament - Corporal Avishka

Best runner in the tournament - Private Madushanka

Man of the match - Lance Corporal Sampath

Best batsman in the final - Private Perera
