ARMY ELLE TEAM BEATS NAVY ELLE TEAM BY 2 RUNS IN THE DEFENSE SERVICES ELLE TOURNAMENT - 2023

Teams from Tri Forces vied for the Defence Services Elle Tournament - 2023, organized by the Sri Lanka Army Elle Committee, at the Diyagama Maninda Rajapaksha Stadium during 02-03 March 2023.

Accordingly, Army Elle players won the championship in the Defence Services Elle Tournament 2023 for the third time in a row by defeating Navy Elle players after a tough match . In the finals, Army players scored 12 & 02 runs in both innings, whereas Navy players scored 07 and 05. Thus, Army players won the Elle Tournament by two runs, with the following awards:

Best batman: Corporal Awishka W A D - 8 SLASC

Best feilder: Lance Corporal Perera K S R - 1 SLAC

Best player: Private Madushanka K A L - 7 SLASC

Meanwhile, adding color to the grand finale, before the second inning, the participants delighted in an Angampora event that was presented by Army personnel.

Major General D M K D B Pussella RWP RSP, Chairman, Sri Lanka Army Elle Committee and Commander Security Forces (West), witnessed the final match and joined the awarding ceremony as the chief guest.

Further, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks as well as Elle fans belonging to the Tri Forces, were also represented at the stadium to witness the final of the Defense Services Elle Tournament- 2023.
