As per the direction of the Commander, Security Forces (West) Major General K Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, with the supervision of General Officer Commanding of 61 Infantry Division, troops of 8 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment under command to the 611 Infantry Brigade on Tuesday afternoon 01 February 2022, rushed to mitigate a fast-spreading wildfire in the general area Yatiyanthota, Sembuwatta forest reservation.
One officer and 25 Other Ranks of 8 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment rushed to the venue and provided expeditions assistance to douse the fire.
