On the directions of the Commander, Security Forces - West Major General Wasantha Abrew, with the supervision of General Officer Commanding 61 Division Major General Dhammi Hewage, troops of 12 Field Engineers under command to the 612 Brigade on Thursday afternoon (4) March 2021 rushed to prevent a fast spreading wild fire in the general area Walallawita , Kapuwaththa forest reservation.
One officer and 20 Other Ranks of 12 Field Engineers rushed to the venue and provided timely assistance to douse fire.
