On the directions of the Commander, Security Forces - West Major General Mahinda Mudalige, troops of 1 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) under command to the 143 Brigade of the 14 Division under the Security Force HQ - West Saturday afternoon (29) rushed to prevent a fast spreading bush fire in the general area of Yanthampalawa, Sundirapola Garbage dump in Kurunegala.
One officer and 26 Other Ranks of 1 SLNG rushed to the venue and With the help of two bulldozers, its further spread was prevented by the troops.
Commander 143 Brigade, Brigadier D.M.P.D Dissanayake closely supervised the troops during this operation.
