On 10 March 2024, at 10:45 hours, 611 Infantry Brigade received information about a student from Wayamba University who fell while climbing the Alagalla mountain range in Rambukkana. The Quick Reaction Team of 611 Infantry Brigade and 18 troops from 8 Battalion of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment swiftly responded to conduct the rescue operation.
At 13:10 hours, the student was safely handed over to the 1990 Suvasariya Ambulance and subsequently admitted to Mawanella hospital.
This operation was conducted under the guidance of the Commander of 611 Infantry Brigade and supervised by the Commanding Officer of 8 Battalion of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment.
