61 INFANTRY DIVISION TROOPS WITH SPONSOR SUPPORT BUILD A NEW HOUSE FOR A NEEDY FAMILY

Troops of 2 (V) GW of 613 Infantry Brigade under 61 Infantry Division with the sponsorship, provided by the `EVEREST’ Sports club - Watareka, contributed their labour and technical assistance to build a new house for a deserving family in Wakwella, Galle. The new house was vested for beneficiary on 11 September 2023 during a simple ceremony in the presence of Major General R A J N Ranasinghe RSP USP ndu, General Officer Commanding of 61 Infantry Division.

The beneficiaries,Mrs KSK Perera and her family members, residing at Wakwella, Galle received the keys from Chief Guest Major General R A J N Ranasinghe RSP USP ndu, General Officer Commanding of 61 Infantry Division.

The construction of the house was carried out by the 2 (V) GW troops with the technical assistance of the 8(V) ESR troops under the close supervision of the Commander 613 Infantry Brigade and the Commanding Officer of 2 (V) GW.

The General Officer Commanding of 61 Infantry Division, Senior Officers, Divisional Secretary (Bope-Poddala) and the members of `EVEREST’ SPORTS CLUB participated at the event. This event appears to be a commendable effort by the military division and the sports club to provide support and housing to a deserving family in need.
