61 Infantry Division troops continued their emergency flood relief operations with the assistance of 02 x 08 1 SLAMC medical team and 01 x 08 troops of 9 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment in Matara District. Meanwhile, they conducted medical campaigns for the affected people belonging to 320 families in Dalugoda (East) 1, Dalugoda (East) 2, Dalugoda (East) 3, Dalugoda (West) and Dalugoda (Cen) GN Divisions and 270 families in Narangala, Pahala Witiyala and Karagoda GN Divisions.
Major General RAJN Ranasinghe RSP USP ndc The General Officer Commanding of 61 Infantry Division visited the affected areas and met the sections of Army troops who still engaged in post-disaster relief work and witnessed the medical assistance provided for the flood-affected people in Matara District. Further, The General Officer Commanding 61 Infantry Division visited the landslide, which occurred in the Thelijjawila School premises.
