61 Infantry Division troops continued their emergency flood relief operations in Matara District. Meanwhile they conducted medical campaigns for affected people in Malimbada (North) GN Div ( 250 families) with the assistance of 02 x 08 1 SLAMC medical team and 02 x 08 3(V) GW troops on 12 Oct 2023.
Further,01 X 40 2(V) GW troops were engaged to clear the embarkment had collapsed on the southern expressway near the 102km post, between Imaduwa and Pinnaduwa interchanges.. An Army excavators were also used for road clearing task.
On the directions of The General Officer Commanding, 61 Infantry Division, Major General RAJN Ranasinghe RSP USP ndc, , troops of 9 SLSR belongs to 613 Inf brigade providing assistance and relief works for displaced people.
