To enhance collaboration between the military and civilian sectors, the distribution of stationaries and essential school requirements to underprivileged children in the Ratnapura district was executed on 30 January 2024, courtesy of the generous sponsorship from the CEAT group.
This noble undertaking was led by Major General RAJN Ranasinghe RSP USP ndc, General Officer Commanding of the 61 Infantry Division, under the guidance of Brigadier HDLS Perera RWP RSP, Commander of the 611 Infantry Brigade, and the close supervision of Lieutenant Colonel JEL De Soyza, Civil Affairs Officer of the 61 Infantry Division, and Lieutenant Colonel HMR Hennayake RSP USP, Commanding Officer of the 8 Gemunu Watch, along with dedicated troops from the unit.
The initiative unfolded at the Batathota Ananda Chethia Vihara Premises, epitomizing the seamless partnership between the military and the local community.
The esteemed presence of Major General RAJN Ranasinghe RSP USP ndc, Commander of the 61 Infantry Division, as the chief guest, alongside Mr. Ravi Dadlani, Managing Director of CEAT Institute, and other esteemed executives from the institute, emphasized the significance of this collaborative effort in uplifting the lives of deserving children and fostering mutual goodwill.
