Following the sponsorship extended by Mr. Prabath Liyanage along with his confreres and Mr. Ramesh Sabha, who is presently residing in Italy as well as a veteran of the 87 batch of the Old Pupils Association of Royal College, Colombo, gave away a stock of sanitary items and dry rations with a wheelchair worth around Rs. 100,000.00 to a low-income family in Walgama, Habaraduwa, through the proper coordination of 61 Infantry Division Headquarters on 26 January 2023.
This low-income family consists with four members and one of their daughters is differently abled. As well as their father who fed up with a blood cancer was benefitted with a wheelchair in addition to a stock of sanitary items and dry rations. Furthermore, with the kind regards of the General Officer Commanding of 61 Infantry Division, Mr. Ramesh Sabha has also gifted the amount of Rs. 30000.00 to the personal account of the said person.
Further, the donors, sponsors and beneficiaries for this noble project were coordinated by 61 Infantry Division Headquarters under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding of 61 Infantry Division, Major General H M U Herath RWP RSP USP hdmc psc with the blessings of the Commander Security Forces (West), Major General D M K D B Pussella RWP RSP.
The generous donation was distributed by Major General H M U Herath RWP RSP USP hdmc psc, the General Officer Commanding of 61 Infantry Division, at the beneficiaries’ house, together with Lieutenant Colonel J E L de Soyza, the Civil Affairs Officer of 61 Infantry Division.
