57 Infantry Division proudly celebrated its 19th Anniversary with a series of religious, military and cultural programmes, reflecting its proud history and dedicated service to the nation. The anniversary celebrations were conducted under the guidance of Major General Vindana Kodituwakku ndu, General Officer Commanding of the 57 Infantry Division with the participation of senior officers, officers, other ranks and civilian staff, fostering unity and team spirit within the division.
The day’s proceedings commenced with a solemn bodhi pooja and religious observances at the Ridee Viharaya, invoking blessings for fallen war heroes and seeking strength for those currently serving. Alms giving ceremony was also graciously held in keeping valued military traditions, symbolizing discipline, honour and commitment towards duty.
Adding colour to the occasion, an entertainment musical event was organized in the evening, providing an opportunity for officers and soldiers to relax and celebrate the anniversary together. The musical programme enhanced camaraderie and morale, further strengthening the bond among members of the division.
