As per the directions and instructions of the Commander Security Forces West, Major General D M K D B Pussella RWP RSP , with the guidance given by the General Officer Commanding 14 Infantry Division, Brigadier J M R N K Jayamanna RWP and under close supervision of the Commander 144 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier K M V Kodithuwakku, Army personnel of 144 infantry Brigade organized another timely important workshop and the demonstrations regarding Disaster management and Roit Control at 2 (v) Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry camp premises and Kelani river bank on 02 October 2022.
Along with this programme, a similar programme has been planned for the Army personnel of the 5 Battalion Gajaba Regiment in the next few days. In addition, 5 Field Engineers and Regimental Headquarters Sri Lanka Army Womens Corps have also been given consideration to arranging a similar programme.
During the demonstration, Army personnel were educated both theoretically and practically on flood relief and emergency response riot control. Troops from 5 Field Engineers and Regimental Headquarters Sri Lanka Army Womens Corps also participated in witnessing the demonstrations.
