144 INFANTRY BRIGADE MARKS ITS 10 TH ANNIVERSARY WITH SEVERAL PROGRAMMES

The 144 Infantry Brigade under the 14 Infantry Division of Security Forces (West), which is located at Akuregoda, commemorated its 10th anniversary amidst religious rituals and military formalities on 31 January and 01 February 2023 under the supervision of Brigadier KMV Kodithuwakku, Commander of 144 Infantry Brigade.

At the apex of the anniversary day programme, the Brigade accorded a formal Guard Turnout to the Brigade Commander on his arrival at the main entrance. Later All Officers and Other Ranks participated in an all-rank tea arranged at the Private’s Mess and followed by Alms Giving for the monks of Wijayasumanaramaya Temple, Battaramulla at camp premises.

In line with the anniversary day programmes, on the evening of 31 January 2023, a Bodhi Pooja was held at the Kelaniya Temple to bestow merits on fallen war heroes and invoke blessings upon the soldiers.

The programme has been organized under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding the 14 Infantry Division, Major General J M R N K Jayamanna RWP and with the blessing of the Commander, Security Forces (West), Major General D M K D B Pussella RWP RSP.
