In coincide with international elders’ and children’s Day - 2023, Troops of 144 Infantry Brigade organized a special programme at the Municipal home for elder and children – Battaramulla premises on 01 October 2023.
As per the directions and instructions of the Commander Security Forces West, Major General UD Wijesekera RWP RSP USP rcds psc, with the guidance given by the General Officer Commanding 14 Infantry Division Major General KAWNH Bandaranayake USP, and close supervision of the Commander 144 Infantry Brigade, Brig KDLC Wijenayake RWP RSP USP, troops of 144 Infantry Brigade organized this special community-oriented project in an attempt to add deserving importance for the world elders’ and children’s day.
Thereby, arrangements were made to provide a delicious lunch for the residents at municipal home for elder and children – battaramulla, as well as the children were offered with some gifts including books, stationaries, and clothes. Also, during the programme a calypso band was played to entertain the elders and children.
The financial and labour assistance for the project was provided by troops of 10 Sri Lanka National Guard. A number of senior officers including Commander 144 Infantry Brigade, Civil Affairs Officer 144 Infantry Brigade, and Officiating Commanding Officer 10 Sri Lanka National Guard also participated at the days event.
