Due to the torrential rain that started with the continuous southwest monsoon rains, Udugampitiya area under 171 Kerawalapitiya Gramasewa Division of Wattala Regional Secretariat under 141 infantry brigade were flooded and about 8 families living there were displaced.
Accordingly, on the directions of the Commander Security Forces (West) and the guidance of the General Officer Commanding of 14 Infantry Division under the close supervision of the commander 141 Infantry brigade along with the Commanding Officer of 8 Sri Lanka Light Infantry made arrangements to provide with a lunch for the said stranded families at Kerawalapitiya Wijekumarathunga stadium on 06 October 2023.
Further,the Commanding Officer of 8 Sri Lanka Light Infantry Major Y D N De Silva RWP RSP ,the Second In Command and troops of 8 Sri Lanka Light Infantry has contributed their assistance for this humanitarian project.
