Newly Appointed Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) Marked His Maiden Visit to 51 Infantry Division

Major General KTP De Silva RSP ndu psc, the Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) marked his maiden visit to Headquarters 51 Infantry Division at Kopay on 29 January 2026 after assumption of his duties.

The Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) was honored with a Guard Turnout. Subsequently, the Commander was warmly welcomed by Major General MR Razick RSP ndu, the General Officer Commanding 51 Infantry Division and Senior Officers and Officers.

The Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) planted a sapling and posed for a group photograph. Then he addressed the assembled troops, highlighting the vital military presence in the Jaffna Peninsula for long-term peace and stability. He emphasized respecting the unique culture of the Northern Province and ensuring military duties are carried out without harming civilian life. The Commander also stressed strict discipline, professionalism, and maintaining a balanced military and personal life.

Further, Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) visited the under command Brigades and Battalions. During his field visit, the Commander had interaction sessions with the Officers and Other Ranks where they had an opportunity to discuss the matters pertaining to welfare of soldiers, underlining the necessity of improving sanitary facilities, accommodation standards and overall living conditions for troops serving in the area.

Brigadier General Staff of Security Forces (Jaffna), Logistic Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) along with Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks serving under 51 Infantry Division took part in these events.
