Brigadier B D T D Jayaratne psc, assumed duties as the 25th Brigade Commander of the 521 Infantry Brigade on 13 October 2025.
Accordingly, a Guard turnout was presented by the 11th Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment under the Brigade, and at the auspicious moment of the Maha Sangha's Seth Pirith chanting, assumed duties as the Brigade Commander and posed for a group photograph with the Brigade staff. Thereafter, after addressing all ranks, participated for the tea party.
Also, to mark the assuming of duties, educational materials were distributed to children of a pre-school with difficulties in the Brigade area.
