Bridging Hearts and Homes by 51 Infantry Division

Going ahead with the Civil Military Cooperation (CIMIC) programmes, the 51 Infantry Division under Security Forces Headquarter (Jaffna) continues to make meaningful strides in supporting to uplift living standard of low income families in Jaffna. Under the strategic direction of Major General MPNA Muthumala USP psc, General Officer Commanding 51 Infantry Division, a special community outreach effort was recently held to empower under privileged living stranded. The event, supervised by Commander 513 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier SW Arachchige and executed with the dedicated support of the 11th Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry troops, included the ceremonial vesting of a newly constructed house at Madagal to a low income family, held on 7th July 2025 offering a fresh start and renewed hopes.

The occasion was graced by Major General MPNA Muthumala USP psc, General Officer Commanding 51 Infantry Division, who attended as the Chief Guest, alongside a gathering of senior military officers and government officials, adding dignity and glamour to the event. The construction was made possible through a generous financial contribution by Mr. Jeeva Balasingham and Mr. Yolanda Balasingham with their families in the memories of their parents Mr. Vaithampillai and Mrs. Jayaranee Balasingham and facilitated by Vanni Aid Canada, with coordination efforts led by Major General Ravi Rathnasingham (Retd).

This event underscores the strong commitment to humanitarian efforts and the importance of community support in improving the living conditions of underprivileged families.
