Sri Lanka Army Extends Support to Mother Teresa Elders' Home in Kopay

In a remarkable demonstration of social responsibility, the Sri Lanka Army organized a special community welfare initiative at Mother Teresa Elders' Home in Irupalai, Kopay. This program was conducted in alignment with the vision of Major General MPNA Muthumala USP psc, the General Officer Commanding of the 51 Infantry Division, and was generously supported by Major General (Retd) Ravi Rathnasingham and Mrs. Rathnasingham.

The initiative featured a comprehensive cleaning campaign aimed at improving the living conditions of the residents. Following this, a special alms-giving ceremony was held, offering meals and other essentials to the senior citizens residing at the home. This act of kindness not only provided material support but also uplifted the spirits of the elderly, fostering a sense of community and care.

The event was graced by Major General YABM Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, the Commander of Security Forces Headquarters Jaffna, who attended as the chief guest. He extended his appreciation and support for the initiative, reaffirming the Sri Lanka Army’s dedication to community service and welfare.

Through such efforts, the Army continues to reinforce its commitment to social upliftment, demonstrating compassion and responsibility towards the nation’s elderly population. This initiative serves as a testament to the importance of collective goodwill and humanitarian service in fostering a caring society.
