As part of the nationwide "Clean Sri Lanka" project, a large-scale school cleaning and furniture repair initiative took place at Nachchikuda G.M.M. School on 28 February 2025. This program aims to enhance the learning environment for students by restoring unusable furniture and ensuring school premises remain clean and well-maintained.
The event was conducted with the active participation of troops from the 2 SLNG along with the school’s principal, teachers, parents, and students. Their collective efforts contributed to revitalizing the school’s infrastructure and reinforcing the importance of cleanliness and sustainability in educational institutions.
Maj VKSI Thalpavila RSP USP psc, Commanding Officer of the 22 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. His presence underscored the collaborative spirit between the military and the local community in fostering a better educational environment.
This initiative is one of many under the "Clean Sri Lanka" national project, which seeks to promote hygiene and environmental responsibility across the country. The event at Nachchikuda G.M.M. School was a testament to the power of collective action in ensuring a better future for Sri Lanka’s younger generation.
