Canada Border Services Agency Liaison Officer in Sri Lanka Pays Courtesy Visit to Security Forces Jaffna

Ms. Kasumi Kubo, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) Liaison Officer in Sri Lanka, paid a courtesy visit to the Security Forces Headquarters in Jaffna on Wednesday, February 19, 2025.

Major General YABM Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander of Security Forces Jaffna, warmly welcomed Ms. Kubo and provided a comprehensive briefing on the military’s role in community engagement initiatives, security operations, and other key regional matters.

During the meeting, Ms. Kubo led discussions on border control, immigration enforcement, and customs services in Canada, which fall under the jurisdiction of the CBSA, a federal law enforcement agency. She was accompanied by Ms. Nadeeka Samarakkodi, the CBSA Liaison Assistant, further highlighting the significance of this diplomatic engagement.

The visit concluded with an exchange of mementos, symbolizing goodwill and mutual respect between both parties. Ms. Kubo also signed the Visitors’ Book, expressing her appreciation and marking the occasion as a step toward continued collaboration.

Brigadier MPKL Amarasinghe WWV RWP RSP, Brigadier General Staff at the Security Forces Headquarters, was also present during the discussions, further underscoring the importance of this high-level interaction.
