As part of the ‘Clean Sri Lanka Programme’ initiated under the vision of His Excellency the president, a cleaning initiative was organized by Security Forces (Jaffna), headed by Major General Manada Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc - the Commander, Security Forces (Jaffna) and the supervision of Major General VDS Perera - the General Officer Commanding of 52 Infantry Division on 30 January 2025.
The troops of 521, 522 and 523 Infantry Brigades, joined hands with the Divisional Secretariat - Chavakachcheri, Urban Council - Chavakachcheri, Education Office - Chavakachcheri, Public Health Inspector Office - Chavakachcheri, Youth Club - Chavakachcheri, Sri Lanka Police - Chavakachcheri and the local civilian community to restore the beauty of the Chavakachcheri Urban Council area.
This programme included a garbage removal and cleaning effort along both sides of roads and was held from 0830 hours to 1200 hours with the participation of 250 military personnel and 300 civilians. This initiative not only aimed to clean the environment but also to foster a sense of responsibility among participants, in order to preserve a clean and beautiful township.
