As part of the ongoing housing project of the Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General MGWWWMCB Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, the Commander, Security Forces (Jaffna) handed over the keys of a newly constructed house to the deserving families in Iyakkachchi on 17 October 2024 coincide with the 75th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army.
The Jaffna Commander vested the house to the beneficiary, Mrs. Rajkumar Ranjitha and family residing in Iyakkachchi amidst religious blessings. This new house was constructed by the troops of 1st Battalion Mechanized Infantry Regiment with the generous patronages of philanthropists’ assistance provided by Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Rohana Thilakaratne, Major (Retired) Ruwan Sivaneththi, Major (Retired) Senadeera, Major (Retired) Ruwan Siwaneththi, Mr. Pramuk Fernando, Mr. Nalinda Diyagamage, Mr. Praveen Kiriwaththuduwa, Mr. Ijas Ahmed and Bhaskaran Kandaiah.
The house was constructed under the direction of Major General PR Pathiravithana USAWC USP, General Officer Commanding of 52 Infantry Division and supervision and guidance of Colonel SMCAS Samarathunga RSP, Commander of 523 Infantry Brigade and Commander (Overlooking) of 522 Infantry Brigade.
Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, family members, government officials and villagers were present at both the occasions.
