Commander, Security Forces (Jaffna) Conducts a Motivational Lecture to National Cricket Team

With the invitation of the Sri Lanka Cricket, Major General MGWWWMCB Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, the Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) conducted a motivational lecture on ‘Patriotism and Dedication from an Army Officers Perspective’ to the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team at the Cinnamon Grand, Colombo, on 23 July 2024.

Sri Lanka Cricket has identified this senior military professional as the key influencer for the National Cricket Team and Dr. Jayantha Dharmadasa, the Vice President of Sri Lanka Cricket, together with Mr. Sanath Jayassuriya, the Head Coach of National Cricket Team, warmly welcomed him at the entrance of the Oak Room of the Hotel.

Before the lecture, Mr. Kalum Srimal conducted an introductory speech, followed by Mr. Sanath Jayasuriya briefing the aim of the day’s session to all participants. While speaking for the National Cricket team, the Commander, Security Forces (Jaffna) highlighted the importance of having a wining mindset as it is a requirement for the country as professional cricketers.

The Q & A session was lively, as most of the cricketers got their doubts clarified through the lecturer. Towards the end, an exchange of mementoes took place between Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) and the Executive Committee Members of Sri Lanka Cricket.

The even ended with a tea interval, allowing all participants to interact and further clarify their doubts. The executive committee members, members of the management, members of the National Cricket Team and staff of Sri Lanka Cricket participated in the event.
