Mrs. K Selvijenais living as a single parent in Umayalapuram, Solainagar, Kilinochchi with two children aged 8 years and 17 years. Her husband has separated and 8 years old son is a child who needs special attention hence mother has to stay with the son.
Due to the extreme poverty, she has come to the Headquarters of 55 Infantry Division for seeking assistance and after clarification of the situation and the difficulties, Major General RKNC Jayawardena RSP ndc, the General Officer Commanding of 55 Infantry Division, guided his staff to provide necessary assistance.
Accordingly, staff of 55 Infantry Division willingly donated dry rations for the family to sustain and, school bags and stationary to support children’s education. They also provided money to get back home with donated items in a three-wheeler.
