With the aim of fostering unity and goodwill among the youth in Killinochchi District, the 55 infantry Division organized a Football Tournament from 14 and 17 May 2024. The culmination of this event took place on Friday (17 May) at the Sports Complex Killinochchi.
The tournament was organized under the guidance of General Officer Commanding 55 Infantry Division Major General RKNC Jayawardene RSP ndc with close supervision and support from Commander 551 Infantry Brigade Colonel DKCL Perera RWP USP psc. The event was organized by the troops of 551 Infantry Brigade and the 7th Battalion the Sri Lanka Light Infantry. The Ilanthalir Sports Club - Waddakachchi" football team became the champions.
