55 Infantry Division, in collaboration with District General Hospital Killinochchi, organized a blood donation campaign at the Office of the Regional Director of Health Services - Killinochchi on 17 May 2024 in line with the Vesak festival. This initiative conducted under the guidance of Major General RKNC Jayawardene RSP ndc, the General Officer Commanding the 55 Infantry Division, was aimed at addressing the urgent blood needs of Killinochchi District General Hospital Blood Bank.
Many civilians and military troops were participated in this programme by donating their blood to support the healthcare efforts of the District General Hospital Killinochchi. The General Officer commanding 55 Infantry Division, Brigade Commander 551 Infantry Brigade, Senior Officers, Officers, Other and Ranks civilians were participated in the program. Their contributions helped to replenish the much-needed blood requirement in the area.
