2nd Annual Day of Montfort International School, Jaffna

The Montfort International School, Allaipiddy, Jaffna conducted its 2nd Annual Day on 09 April with the theme of ‘Empowering to Shine’. Major General MGWWWMCB Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, the Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) grace the occasion as the Guest of Honour and the Principle, Rev. Bro Mariapragasamwarmly welcomed him at the entrance of the School. Afterwards, invitees were taken to the stage with the graceful assistance of the school band. The proceedings started after lighting of traditional oil lamp and honouring the Guests by presentation of mementos.

The event was made colorful by the students with a number of activities such as songs, dances, speeches and dramas. The Annual Report was then displayed in order to give a vivid explanation on activities conducted by school during the year.

By addressing the audience,the Jaffna Commander thanked Rt. Rev. Dr. Justin Bernard Gnanapragasam, the Bishop of Jaffna and Precedent of the School, Principal and Management Board of the School for inviting him to be the Guest of Honour in this memorable occasion to witness the outstanding performance of young children. He also highlighted the importance of education, role of parents on their children’s education and children’s motivation on education for the participants to concentrate on.

Mr. Patrick Diranjan – Secretary, Ministry of Education, Cultural Affairs, Sports and Youth Affairs, of Northern Province, a number of Rev. Fathers, Brothers and Sisters, Academic Staff and Nonacademic Staff and parents of the children participated to witness the activities of 2nd Annual Day.
