Security Forces Jaffna Conducted a Symposium to Discuss Contemporary Local and International Security

Security Forces (Jaffna) organized a symposium for Grade 1 Army Officers aimed to acquire the knowledge on contemporary local and international security issues with the interaction of renowned Professor David Brewster, Colonel Amanda Johnston, the Defence Attache to Australian High Commission and Captain Simon Batterman (Australian Navy) on Monday, 11 March.

Jaffna Commander, Major General MGWWWMCB Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and General Officer Commanding of 51 and 52 Infantry Division, Brigade Commanders and Senior Officers of Security Forces (Jaffna) also participated in the symposium.

It was an invaluable opportunity to all Officers to enhance the knowledge on contemporary security issues and all the participants were vigorously taken part throughout the discussion. The Chatham house discussion was ended by sharing knowledge of each other with a lively and interested questions and answer session. At the end of the session, Jaffna Commander, awarded special mementos to distinguish lectures as token of appreciations. Concluding the day’s itinerary, they had a courtesy visit to Headquarters, Security Forces (Jaffna) and had a discussion with the Jaffna Commander, in his Office and made complimentary notes in the Visitors’ Book.
