As a good will gesture and also to maintain a strong bond with the community in Kilinochchi District, 55 Infantry Division distributed 30 packs of baby equipment for expectant mothers at Kilinochchi Hospital to mark the International Women’s Day on 08 March 2024.Further, lunch was given for women who are admitted to hospitals at Akkarayankulam, Poonakary, Veravil and Dharmapuram by 551, 552 and 553 Infantry Brigades.
The event was executed under the guidance of the Jaffna Commander, Major General Chandana Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc and supervision of General Officer Commanding, 55 Infantry Division, Major General Nalin Jayawardene.
Brigadier Suresh Radalage, Brigade Commander 552 Infantry Brigade, Colonel Indika Mendis, Brigade Command 553 Infantry Brigade, Lieutenant Colonel Thusara Kusumsiri Senior Staff Officer 551 Infantry Brigade, all Staff Officers, Commanding Officers and Other Ranks participated for the event.
