The Technical Operations Manager of Mines Advisory Group (MAG), Mr Andrew Warsap (UK) along with the Consultant Officer, Major General (Retired) Kumara Peiris pays a courtesy call on Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General MGWWWMCB Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc on 26 February 2024 at his office.
The visiting delegation was warmly welcomed by the Jaffna Commander. Mr Andrew Warsap (MAG) highlighted the progress of the de - mining sites at Northern Province and their role to assist people affected by landmines, unexploded ordnance, small arms and light weapons. Also elaborated that they take humanitarian approach to landmine action. As of today, Muhamalai and Elephant Pass areas are the only areas that MAG is engaging in Jaffna Peninsula and Jaffna Commander emphasized to speed up the process in order to support for the government resettlement and reconciliation process, as the Commander of the Army is also interested and monitoring the de - mining progress of Jaffna.
