Jaffna District Secretary Mr. A. Sivabalasundran, Northern Province Additional Secretary to the President Mr. I Ilangovan and few other state officials in Jaffna met the recently appointed Jaffna Security Forces Commander, Major General Chandana Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, at the Security Forces Headquarters on 14th February 2024.
The state officials congratulated the new Commander and appreciated the military’s significant contribution to the community relation by constructing of over 703 houses for needy people, various donation programmes and assisting the government authorities in Jaffna. It was a lengthy discussion on the military assistance to uplift the standard of economical, social and cultural development in Jaffna people. The Government officials admired the cordial relationship built by Major General Chandana Wickramasinghe during the tenures as General Officer Commanding and the Brigade Commander in Jaffna and they expect the same bond in future as well.
Additional District Secretary Mr. M. Piiratheepan, Additional District Secretary (Land) Mr. K. Shrimohanan and Tellippalai Divisional Secretary Mrs. Sivakenga Sutheesnar took part at the meeting with the Jaffna Commander and the Senior Officers of the Security Forces Headquarters.
