Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) Made Hismaidenofficialvisit to 52 Infantry Division and Its Under Command brigades and Battalions

Major General Chandana Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, the newly-appointed Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna made his official visit to 52 Infantry Division on 05th and 06th February 2024. He was warmly welcomed by the General Officer Commanding, 52 Infantry Division, Major General YABM Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc following the military traditions and customs.

Commander Security Forces - Jaffna participated in series of events at 52 Infantry Division Headquarter premises during his two days visit. On 5th February, he visited Headquarters 52 Infantry Division, appeared for a group photograph, planted a sapling to symbolize his official visit, addressed the troops, paid field visits to 522 Infantry Brigade, 23 Gamunu Watch, 1 Mechanized Infantry Regiment and ammunition dumps at Periyapachchapalei and there he mainly concern regarding the security of the ammo dump and instructed to the Commanding Officer 5 Sri Lanka Army Ordinance Corps. First day programme was culminated with a courtesy call on Rev. Fr Amalraj at St. Mary’s Church – Chundikulam,.

Major General Chandana Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, during the second day visited 521 and 523 Infantry Brigades, 11 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment,4 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, 7 Vijayabahu and 11 Field Engineer Regiment. Courtesy callon Rev. Fr. Richard at Methodist Church Point - pedro and Rev. Fr. Burnett at St. Thomas Church – Point Pedro concluded the second day programme. During his visit, Commander Security Forces – Jaffna mainly discussed on community engagement through military professionalism and security on retaining normalcy in the area.

General Officer Commanding, Deputy General Officer Commanding, Brigade Commanders, Staff Officers of 52 Infantry Division, Commanding Officers, and troops were associated with the chain of events.
