To enhance religious harmony and civil - military cooperation among civilians living in Point Pedro area, troops of 521 Infantry Brigade, 4th Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and 11th Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment conducted a Christmas Carol programme at the auditorium in J/Methodist Girls High School on 21st December 2023.
The event was conducted under the guidance of Colonel MHR Fernando RWP RSP USP, Commander 521 Infantry Brigade. Major General YABM Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, General Officer Commanding - 52 Infantry Division participated in the event as the Chief Guest whilst the Vicar General of the Jaffna Diocese Very Rev Dr. P.J. Jebarathnam grace the occasion as the Guest of Honour.
Many distinguished invitees and over 400 Civilians attended to witness the event. The performances were done by the school children from Methodist Girls High School, Methodist Boys School, Students of St Methodist Church and St Thomas Roman Catholic Church Point Pedro. The Special performances and prayers were done by Father Micheal Saundranayagam and Sisters of the Church. Christmas Message was also delivered by the Vicar General, to highlight the value of Christmas. The event terminated with a refreshment and the dinner for all participants.
