On a significant occasion aligned with the celebration of the 74th anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army, the 553 Infantry Brigade laid the foundation stone for a cutting-edge lecture hall on 14 October 2023, and the lecture hall was officially declared open in the presence of the distinguished Chief Guest, Major General Sujeewa Hettiarachchi RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc, the Commander of the Security Forces Jaffna on 23 November 2023.
This significant undertaking was spearheaded by Major General Nalin Jayawardena RSP ndc, General Officer Commanding, 55 Infantry Division and under the untiring commitment of Brigadier Saman Perera RSP, Commander, 553 Infantry Brigade.
The realization of this lecture hall was a collective effort, a result of the unwavering commitment and hard work of all Officers and Other Ranks within the brigade. This newly inaugurated lecture hall not only stands as a physical structure but also symbolizes the brigade's commitment to intellectual growth and the continuous pursuit of knowledge. As the Sri Lanka Army marches into the future, this facility will play a pivotal role in shaping the minds of the next generation of military leaders.
