In conjunction with the International Children’s day and the Sri Lanka Army 74th Anniversary, with the blessings of the Commander Security Force Jaffna Major General SRK Hettiarachchi RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc and the guidance of General Officer Commanding, 55 Infantry Division, Major General RKNC Jayawardena RSP ndc, troops of 552 Infantry Brigade and 22 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment associate with the Alumni Friends of Royal College Colombo - 07 and the Old Scholarly Friends of University of Sri Jayawardanapura, conducted a shoe distribution programme at Poonarin Vinayasodei Tamil School on 02nd October 2023.
Nearly one hundred children studying in the school were gifted shoes and coconut saplings were distributed among the parents. Brigade Commander, 552 Infantry Brigade, Colonel DSS Radalage RWP RSP graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Mr. Prasad Lokubalasooriya, representative of Old Scholarly Friends of University of Sri Jayawardanapura, Senior Officers and Officers participated in the programme.
