Security Force Headquarters Jaffna Marks 74th Army Day with Religious Activities

In coinciding with the 74th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army, as per the conceptual guidance of the Commander Security Forces Jaffna, Major General SRK Hettiarachchi RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc, a “Bodhi Pooja” (meritorious act) was organized at Headquarters premises on 29th September 2023 with the participation of Brigadier General Staff, Brigadier KJNMPK Nawarathne RWP RSP, Staff Officers and other members of the headquarters staff. The pinkama was organized for the purpose of transferring merits on fallen war heroes and invoking blessings on serving Army personnel.

Further, to coincide with the day’s significance, troops of Security Forces Headquarters Jaffna conducted an alms-giving on 01st October 2023, to the most sacred Nagadeepa Rajamaha Viharaya in Nainattivu islands, off Jaffna in order to receive blessings of most hallowed place of worship, concentrated by the Buddha. This alms-giving is conducted by the troops on the first day of every month as per the directions of the Commander Security Forces Jaffna.
