On the conceptual guidance of General Officer Commanding, 55 Infantry Division, Major General Prasanna Gunaratne RSP ndu psc IG a knowledge sharing session on drug prevention and the impact of drugs on sportsmen/women and society was organized by the 55 Infantry Division on 11 June 2023. With the intention of safeguarding the well-being and future success of young sportsmen, the event took place within the 55 Division Area.
With the guidance of Brigadier Saman Perera, Commander 553 Infantry Brigade, this enlightening session marked another significant milestone in the ongoing Beach Volleyball roadmap.
The awareness program was conducted by Mr. Abdul Raheem, a distinguished counselor serving as the Senior Programme Officer at the Alcohol and Drug Information Centre (ADIC). They were also equipped with practical preventive measures that they can incorporate into their lives. More than 160 individuals from 14 sports clubs in the area attended the session.
