To mark the Poson Poya Day, many programms were conducted under the instructions of Major General Prasanna Gunarathne, General Officer Commanding of 55 Infantry Division. A dansala (buns and tea) was organized by the 55 Infantry Division where 1500 civilians around Kaddaikadu area participated for the dansala. On the same day, Venerable Ingiriye Dhammalankara Thero, the Chief Incumbent of Kilinochchi Temple, conducted a Dharma preaching event to bless the troops serving in Jaffna peninsula and 553 Infantry Brigade organized the programme as part of their Posonprogramme.12 (V) Vijayabhahu Infantry Regiment held a soft drinks and biscuits dansala for about 1500 civilians, who traveled on A 09 road in Iyakkachchi.
