513 Infantry Brigade successfully completed another humanitarian intervention once again. ‘Bath Dansala’ (rice and curry) is a popular Buddhist tradition where free meals and refreshments are offered to the public, regardless of their religion or social status. The aim of this initiative was to promote communal harmony and cooperation among the people, especially during the Vesak and Poson Festivals, which is celebrated by Buddhists worldwide.
Accordingly, Officers and all ranks of 513 Infantry Brigade, 11 Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry and 16 (V) Gemunu Watch Battalion conducted a ‘Bath Dansala’ on 03 June 2023, at the 513 Infantry Brigade Headquarters, Keeramali, Kankasanthurai. Thereby, troops volunteered their time and resources to prepare a variety of mouthwatering spread of Sri Lankan dishes with rice and traditional curries and Biscuit packets which were served to more than 1000 Villagers who were in Kollankaladi, Mawankaladi and Keeramali areas.
Similarly, this charitable project was conducted by Officers and all ranks 513 Infantry Brigade, under the guidance of General Officer Commanding 51 Infantry Division, Major General SWB Welagedra RSP VSV USP ndc, under the supervision of Commander 513 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier M Rizvi Razick RSP.
