With the objective of enhancing the mutual understanding, values, attitudes and inter-relationship in a multi-cultural, religious and a multi-ethnic society a Sinhala and Tamil New Year festival was conducted by the troops of Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna) and Forward Maintenance Area (North) under the guidance of Major General Swarna Bothota, Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) on 10 April 2023 at Palaly sports ground.
The day’s itinerary was began after lighting traditional oil lamp. The festival was filled with Sinhala and Tamil traditional events, which drew the attention of a huge crowd. Security Forces Commander graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
A large number of Officers and Other Ranks representing under command Battalions and Units enthusiastically participated in those events.
