As per the conceptual guidance of the Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General Swarna Bothota, a cricket tournament was organized by 3rd Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps for the purpose of elevating cooperation among troops and stimulating them for sports. The final encounter was held on 27th February 2023 at the Sports Ground, Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna).
A total number of 14 cricket teams vied in the tournament until the finalists, 3rd Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps and 4th Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps were selected to face the final tussle, in which the 4th Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps became the champions in men’s category. In the women’s category, 7th Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps won the trophy and 4th Sri Lanka Medical Corps were the runner-up.
Major General ACA De Zoysa USP Hdmc Lsc, the Commander Forward Maintenance Area (North), Brigadier General Staff, Brigadier KND Karunapala ndc and Senior Officers participated for the certificate awarding ceremony. Officers and Other Ranks gave their maximum support for the success of the cricket tournament.
