Rotarians of Malaysia Visit Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna)

A team of Rotarians of Malaysia comprised of 16 Rotarians from Rotary District 3030 (Malaysia) paid a visit to Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna) during their visit to Rotary District 3220 – Sri Lanka on 20th January 2023. This visit is a part of their familiarization visit and to provide much needed economic and community development support to Sri Lankans in this challenging times. Thus these philanthropists assist projects and programmes coordinated in order to uplift the well-being of Sri Lankans in North and East – Jaffna, Batticaloa and Trincomalee.

The Malaysian delegation was warmly welcomed by the Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General Swarna Bothota and Brigadier General Staff on their arrival to Headquarters premises. Afterwards, the delegation had a discussion at the VVIP conference hall on current Army engagements and its commitment to well-being of the people, promotion of civil military cooperation in the Jaffna Peninsula with special focus on reconciliation moves in order to upgrade the development programmes. The Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General Swarna Bothota, Brigadier General Staff, Brigadier Dhammika Karunapala, Colonel General Staff, Colonel Kashyapa Abeyratne and Senior Officers attended to the discussion with delegation.

After the discussion, the delegation headed by Mr. Jerry Daniel, the Chief Executive Officer visited to “Ambalama” at T-Junction where the English Language class is conducted as per the guidance of Major General Bothota and donated stationeries followed by an interaction session with the students of Government Tamil Mix School, Palaly. During their field visit to Jaffna, the delegation visited many places including Army establishments and exchanged their views on current ongoing civil community projects with Army officials.
