513 Infantry Brigade successfully completed another humanitarian intervention once again and extended their technical, engineering and manpower support to build a new house to encourage a Player, who brought laurels to Victoria Collage Chullipuram, Jaffna. The Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General Swarna Bothota graced the house warming ceremony and handed over the keys of the new house to Mrs. Selwarasa Kiristiga, who is a member of Under 19 Women’s National Cricket Squad on 06 January 2023.
This new house was built as per the concept of Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), under the advice of General Officer Commanding 51 Infantry Division, Major General Wajira Welagedra and under the guidance of Commander 513 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier Rizvi Razick. The technical assistance was given by 16th Battalion Sri Lanka Gemunu Watch under the supervision of Commanding Officer, Major KWK Hemantha GW.
Vamadewa Thiagendran, the Founder and Chairman of Thiyahie Charitable Trust provided much needed financial assistance to this much worthy endeavor. The Parale, Chullipuram Kovil donated the land to construct the house.
During the brief ceremony, gifts and dry ration packs were also donated to the beneficiary.
