As per the invitation of Major L D Rathnaweera USP, the Commanding Officer Army Base Hospital Palalythe newly-constructed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and the Emergency Treatment Unit (ETU) was declared open during a brief ceremony held on 20 November 2022 under the patronage of Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) Major General ChandanaWijayasundara.
The construction support was extended for the project by troops of 5 Corps of Engineer Services (CES) Regiment under the guidance of Commander, Forward Maintenance Area - North, Brigadier Clifford Zoysa.
